Welcome to the Linxdesign Sports 2000 website,
designed to promote all aspects of the Sports
2000 race series. We decided to launch this site
as we have a genuine interest in Sports 2000 and
are looking at setting up our own team under the
Rhino-Racing banner. We have been working to
establish a race car 'Design and Build'
programme with a local University to build a
Sports 2000 car. We are also looking at the
feasibility of an environmentally friendly
approach to racing - watch this space!
There is no official link between the Linxdesign
Sports 2000 website and the Sports 2000 SRCC,
and this site is not endorsed by Sports 2000
SRCC.
The purpose of the website is to promote all
those elements associated with Sports 2000 that
make it such a great series to participate in;
whether you have an Historic car running the
ultra reliable Pinto Engine or planning to buy a
brand new car powered by a
Duratec Engine,
Sports 2000 offers a style of racing that will
suit everyone's needs.
Sports 2000 offers a mix of classes that are
supported by classic historic cars, through to
high technology brand new machinery from
established race car manufacturers. The series
also accommodates the competent 'build your own'
sector, allowing individuals to build a
'special' in the garage at home. In turn, this
is supported by a mix of drivers, including
spirited young drivers through to enthusiastic
and seasoned drivers. This mix makes Sports 2000
a very enjoyable series to compete in.
But it doesn't end there - the off track
enthusiasm and willingness to help, along with
the friendly nature make it a very enjoyable
race series to be involved in, coupled to this
the dedicated Sports 2000 Hospitality Centre is
a place to meet with fellow competitors, take
advantage of the complimentary refreshments and
share stories about late braking and problems
with the car that prevented you from winning!
One of the key features of the series is the
focus on 'Driving Standards' - the club actively
enforces the 'no deliberate contact' and
'dangerous driving' policies. For more details
please read the Sports 2000 Code of Conduct.
